Celebrity Weddings of 2011

This has definitely been the year of celebrity weddings with a lot of singers, actors, models and royalty all tying the knot, saying goodbye to the single life by making a lifelong commitment.

One of the most anticipated weddings of 2011 was the ceremony between Prince William and Catherine Middleton. The service was attended by numerous celebrities, presidents and royalties. The final guest list had a total of 1900 people. The bride wore a long-sleeved lace dress designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. As jewelry the bride were a pair of diamond earrings, gift from her parents and a Cartier tiara that was lent to Kate by the Queen. Prince William wore the traditional uniform of the Colonel of the Irish Guard. The wedding band that Prince William struggled to put on his bride's finger was made of Welsh gold created by Wartski. The happy couple spent their wedding night at the Buckingham Palace and the honeymoon in Desroches Island a few weeks later.

Kate Moss wed guitarist Jamie Hince in St. Peter’s Parish Church in Southrop, England in a Great Gatsby style ceremony. Among the guest were celebrities such as Paul McCarteney, Marc Jacobs, Naomi Campbell and Jude Law. The bride wore a vintage-style cream dress designed by John Galliano and blue soled Manolo Blahniks, while the groom wore a blue suit by Stefano Pilati for Yves Saint Laurent. Another supermodel who married a rockstar in 2011 is Lily Aldridge who wed Kings of Leon singer Caleb Followill. They had an intimate ceremony attented by family and close friends in Montecito, California.

Also on the 2011 celebrity wedding list are Leann Rimes and Eddie Cibrian. The couple had a very intimate ceremony in Malibu with only 35 guests. They were married by two close friends ordained especially for the event. The list of famous weddings that took place this year is long and it includes names such as Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig, Reese Witherspoon and talent agent Jim Toth, Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo.
