Using a Wedding Checklist
Considering that the wedding day is one of the most important days in the life of a couple, the pressure to get everything done and in time can be a little high for the bride and groom. In order to enjoy this special day the best thing you can do is to organize everything in a wedding checklist right from the moment you get engaged. The first thing that should be considered it’s how much time you have until the actual date. Determining the exact time it’s very important because the whole planning of the event is made according to it. While some brides have 1 months to prepare for the wedding, others have to complete the same tasks in only 3 or 4 months.
The ideal situation is to have a year or more to do all the preparations. In this case you can start by announcing your engagement, decide on what kind of wedding you want and set a date, make reservations for the location, decide if you want to hire a wedding planner. After this you can begin to select the bridesmaids and groomsmen, finalize the guest list, book a caterer, photographer, music band, florist, register for gifts. 3 or 4 months before the wedding you can start to mail out invitations, organize the rehearsal dinner, choose gifts for you guests and make the necessary travel arrangements for the out of town. This would also be the right time to make the final fittings for the wedding gown and tux.
In the weeks before the wedding you should have in your wedding checklist all the legal papers and make insurance arrangements. Check and and discuss the final wedding music list with the DJ and you should also give him a no-play list with the songs you usually don’t like to hear at weddings. When you plan this special day, organize things so that the wedding day can be as free as possible for you to enjoy it.
